Britain's Jamie Lidell has migrated from England to Berlin, and finally exiled himself in New York where he lives with his beloved (who he claims "will be his phone" in one of his songs).
Influenced by the frantic pace of the Big Apple, he launched a new electro album, Compass, this spring, that is suffused with pop, folk and gospel. Among the famous guest stars featured on the album are his faithful pals Beck and Feist. Below, Telus meets the man who has made New York his home.
